The Laboratory
Zep Tepi Solutions is a Spagyric laboratory in Park City, Utah. Owen Weinman makes every preparation by hand through the full Alchemical process. Each preparation is separated into Sulfur, Mercury, and Salt, with each part purified and recombined into a single whole.
Right now, three kinds of work come out of this laboratory: Spagyric tinctures and formulations, Initiatics made for ritual practice and inner work, and liposomal preparations.
My Standard
Ma'at was the Egyptian standard of truth, balance, and right order, understood as a single law. Those are the principles I hold this laboratory to, and everything made here is made toward the betterment of whoever it reaches.
Owen Weinman, Laboratory Alchemist
My search for truth started early. My mother opened a yoga studio when I was five, and I grew up around Ayurveda, Buddhism, Hermeticism, Zen, and the new age movement, catching glimpses of something older running underneath it all. Egypt had my attention from childhood, but Alchemy came later and without ceremony: a book found its way to me, it clicked like nothing before it ever had, and I have not stopped since.
In 2018 I left for six months on my own, backpacking through Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia, Egypt, and Turkey. I bought a motorcycle in Laos and rode it through Vietnam and Cambodia, where I sold it.
Egypt is where it turned. I already knew what Alchemy was, but what I had not seen was the precision that results from it applied at the scale of an entire civilization. Standing in front of what those people built and made, I stopped asking what they knew. The question became: What is a human being actually capable of?
As far as I can tell, Alchemy is the last intact thread of what was taught inside the Egyptian temples. It passed through Islam and medieval Europe, colored and added to by both but never severed. Almost every Western occult tradition people study branches off from this root. Working with it means going to the source instead of drinking downstream.
I came home and built a laboratory in my parents’ garage. All I had was a camp stove, a strainer, a few pieces of glassware I bought online, some books, and a notebook. Several laboratories followed, each better than the last. The one I work in now is the distillation of all of them, everything I have learned about what a laboratory actually needs and what is only eye candy.
Real Alchemy was the first book on Alchemy I could work from. Reading further into Robert Allen Bartlett, I found he was still teaching, which meant I could go learn from him directly and ask him questions in person. I completed his Prima, Secunda, and Tertia courses in plant, animal, and mineral Alchemy at his laboratory in Washington, and I have kept going back, most recently for his Metallic Mercury course.
Bartlett was chief chemist at Paralab, the production laboratory attached to the Paracelsus College, working under Frater Albertus. Albertus, born Albert Riedel, founded the Paracelsus Research Society in Salt Lake City in 1960, which later became the Paracelsus College. Both closed after his death in 1984. The teaching runs from Salt Lake City, through Bartlett’s laboratory in Washington, to this one in Park City.
I went on from there to two years as laboratory director for Phoenix Aurelius Research Academy, hand-making several hundred Spagyric preparations. Zep Tepi Solutions is what I set out with afterward: everything gathered along the way, built to my own standards, and under my own name. The high mountains of Park City are where I was born, and after a long way around, they are where the laboratory is.
Nothing about this work is secret. Alchemy is open to everyone. Ask me anything and I'll tell you what I know, and where I'm still figuring it out.

FAQs
Zep Tepi is an ancient Egyptian phrase written in Medu Neter, the divine speech. It translates as The First Time. Most people know it as the name for Egypt’s golden age, when the Neteru ruled and the sacred arts were commonplace. That golden age is a Zep Tepi, but it is not the only one. Zep Tepi is a vital function of nature: the inception of anything into reality, the first moment it exists. When a person is born, that is their Zep Tepi. When a plant first meets its menstruum in the laboratory, that is the solution’s Zep Tepi. True Sidereal astrology sets the timing of my work for that reason. What stands in the heavens above is fixed into what forms in the flask below.
Zep Tepi Solutions is the work of one person, Owen Weinman, in Park City, Utah. I make every preparation by hand, sourcing the material, running the extraction, calcining the Body, purifying the Salts, and filling your bottle.
Robert Allen Bartlett taught me in person. I completed his Prima, Secunda, and Tertia courses in plant, animal, and mineral Alchemy at his laboratory in Washington, and returned most recently for his Metallic Mercury course. Bartlett trained under Frater Albertus, who founded the Paracelsus Research Society in Salt Lake City in 1960, later the Paracelsus College, which places this laboratory in a direct Utah Alchemical lineage. Two years as laboratory director for Phoenix Aurelius Research Academy followed, hand-making several hundred Spagyric preparations. I have practiced since 2018.
Every step is done by hand and given the time it needs, which runs to months for some preparations and years for others. Circulation, incubation, and maturation are the long stages, and none of them can be rushed. The Salt has to be dissolved and crystallized over and over before it is pure enough to go back into the tincture. Batches stay small for the same reason: one person doing the work properly can only make so much at a time.
Yes. Zep Tepi Solutions produces Spagyric preparations under white label for Dr. Tom Cowan, and Dr. Andrew Kaufman recommends my Spagyric preparations to people following his protocols. Production runs go from small personal quantities up to several gallons, and bottling and labeling into finished customer-facing bottles can be done in house for an additional fee. Affiliates, white label clients, and custom formulation work are all taken case by case. Start with the contact form and choose wholesale or white label as the reason for inquiry.
